What to expect during laser hair removal treatment
What to Expect During Your Laser Hair Removal Treatment

The first thing we’ll do is have a consultation with you to determine if you are a good candidate. Your laser technician will begin by asking a few relevant questions about your recent health history to ensure there are no contraindications for treatment. The technician will discuss your desired treatment and at that time you can let us know what specific areas you would like to have treated. The treatment area will be cleaned and prepared for treatment. Your technician will talk you through the treatment to ensure you won’t have any surprises.

While receiving laser hair removal, you will be required to wear protective eye wear. You may still be able to see a flash of light, but your eyes will be completely protected. The laser technicians also wear protective eye wear. During the treatment we will cover all areas of the body that will not be lasered, so only the areas to receive laser treatment will be exposed. We are always mindful of your comfort and your peace of mind, so before the procedure starts we will let you know what to expect.

There may be some redness, swelling, or purpura immediately after laser hair removal that could last for a few hours. This is nothing to be concerned about, and it should resolve itself quickly. You can apply ice to the area if you are in pain or severe discomfort. If you have a skin reaction right after the treatment, the laser technician may apply a steroid cream to reduce inflammation and supply extra for later use. If you have a skin reaction after you get home, you should contact your laser technician or medical provider for assistance.
